With the 2025 Summit hosted in Munich—a city closely linked to both peace and defence—security was made a central focus of this year’s plenary. Equally crucial was the emphasis on empowering young leaders to drive international cooperation.
Findings from the Global Consultation support this direction. Confidence in international organisations, particularly their ability to prevent nuclear war, rose notably. Sixty-five percent of respondents expressed trust in institutions like the UN, up over six percentage points from 2024.
These shifts reveal a growing belief among young people in the power of global institutions to maintain peace and security. The challenge ahead is clear: how can we harness this rising confidence and leadership potential to place young people at the forefront of shaping a safer, more cooperative world?
