What is GSBS?
If you are interested in learning more about social business and connecting with practitioners and experts in the field, the Global Social Business Summit is the place for you.
The Global Social Business Summit is the leading forum for social business, non-loss, non-dividend companies with a social goal. It serves to spread awareness about social business, foster discussion and collaboration between practitioners and stakeholders, as well as present and conceive best practices.
The annual event is organised by One Young World Counsellors Professor Muhammad Yunus and Hans Reitz, and gathers experts from the private sector, civil society, governments and academia over a few days of meetings, forums and workshops. The Global Social Business Summit is a platform where we can create our own space of inspiration and determination, create new value in the face of generational and structural shifts and leverage far-reaching advances in science and technology for our communities.
GSBS 2015
The 7th annual Global Social Business Summit takes place in Berlin, Germany from 4 – 6 November.
The 7th edition of the Global Social Business Summit is inspired by the 7th principle of social business, “do it with joy!”, to provide a breathtaking experience to all participants. The Summit will showcase the role of empathy and stimulate your creativity through new inspiring platforms for problem-solving. Once again the Summit will gather renowned and inspirational speakers from social businesses, the business world, the political scene, as well as entrepreneurs, scientists and academics to deliver a conference with high quality content. Speakers include Professor Muhammad Yunus, Hans Reitz and Danone Group CEO, Emmanuel Faber.
In addition, the GSBS offers several side events tailored and directed at specific categories of participants. The Young Challengers Meeting, which takes place on November 3&4, is a one and a half day event solely reserved for students, young professionals or anyone under the age of 30. The Meeting offers young people interested in social business the opportunity to receive an in-depth introduction and a hands-on training on how to develop their own social business ideas. For the young professionals who are already running their own social business or have a well-defined business idea, experts and social business practitioners will be offering guidance and advice on how to solve challenges faced by social business start-ups. Overall, the Young Challengers Meeting is a unique platform to learn about social business, meet peers, network and gain a very valuable experience.
