Join The City of The Hague at 2017 Bogotá
The City of The Hague is attending the One Young World Summit 2017 in Bogotá together with 40 young professionals from The Netherlands! Led by mayor Pauline Krikke, the City of The Hague will show the Delegates at the 2017 Summit how the International City of Peace and Justice is working towards a better world. After Bogotá, The Hague will work together with these 40 young professionals in the upcoming year and a half to make One Young World The Hague 2018 the best edition yet. And YOU can be part of it! In total 40 young professionals will attend the One Young World Summit in Bogotá and the City of The Hague is looking for 10 professionals who want to be a part of the One Young World Summit in Bogotá and in The Hague for the upcoming year and a half.
Your profile:
- You are between the age of 18 and 30 years old.
- You study, live or work within The Hague or feel a strong connection with the city.
- You are interested in the global issues we are facing today and you are passionate to contribute to change in your community, our country or the world.
How to apply:
You can apply for the One Young World Summit in Bogotá from the 9th till the 31st of May 2017. The application exists of two stages, below you will find out more about the two stages of the application for the One Young World Summit 2017 in Bogotá:
Stage 1 online assessment (three components)
1. Video pitch
This short, self-recorded video interview is an opportunity for you to tell us about yourself and why you want to attend the One Young World Summit. You may record the video pitch at any location which is most convenient for you. You’ll have 60 seconds to give your vision in English on the following question: “How would you like to build a better world with the One Young World Summit The Hague?”
2. Free assignment
The Free assignment gives you the opportunity to share your view about ‘how to build a better world’. You can choose to write a poem, essay (maximum of 500 words), song, painting or anything of your own choosing. Be creative and original! Please enclose a short explanation of your work.
3. Resume (Curriculum Vitae)

After you’ve send your video pitch, the free assignment and your resume, you will receive an email to confirm your application. Early June 2017 you will receive an email if you’ve passed the first stage with an invitation for the second stage.

Stage 2 Final assessment:
This is the last assessment stage: Three professionals who are connected to the One Young World Summit The Hague will conduct a 30 minute interview with you in The Hague. This is where you have the chance to get to know us, and we have the opportunity to get to know you better. During this interview we will discuss your thoughts concerning the world problems and your contributions to making a change in this world. We will invite 40 participants for an interview in the first two weeks of June 2017 and select 10 young professionals who will be part of the One Young World Summit The Hague in the upcoming year and a half.
