We're so proud of One Young World Ambassador Kirani James who has won a silver medal for Grenada at the Olympic Games.

Kirani finished the men's 400m final with a season’s best of 43.76 seconds after placing 1st in the semi-finals on Saturday in Rio.

“It means a lot not just for me but for my country… To have two guys in an Olympic finals in one of the toughest race; it’s a great achievement,” he said

The Grenadian sprinter specializes in the 200 and 400 metres, and won Grenada their first ever Olympic medal in 2012 by bringing home the gold.

Kirani attended the One Young World Summit in Dublin in 2014.
