The third and final day of the One Young World Environment Summit started off with a beautiful morning, and delegates gathered around co-founder Kate Robertson to receive the call to action for the last day. While day 2 consisted of much inspiration from Counsellors and presenters, Day 3 was all about putting the ideas into action and digging deep into concepts that were mentioned during the previous day.

Delegates moved into their breakout sessions throughout the day that ranged from dissecting the topics of politics and leadership to analyzing the profound effects of climate change upon the indigenous communities.

Highlights of the day included tangible examples of how to pursue politics not for of the sake of being in politics but because of one's desire to create change within communities, and representing those who do not have a voice. Christine Milne shared her journey at length about her path to environmental activism and pursuing politics only because no one else was going to speak out about critical environmental concerns that her homeland of Tasmania was facing.

The day continued to with interactive sessions with Dr. Leyla Acaroglu and entertainment legend Ken Kragen which captivated the attention of delegates and provided them with practical takeaways that can be applied to all aspects of life.

The evening ended with a vibrant and energetic closing dinner in which Sekou Andrews captured the audience with powerful words and urged young leaders to turn their networking into practical projects that deal with the world’s most pressing issues and applying their knowledge to making advancements for the betterment of our planet.

This was followed by networking among the delegates in which hundreds of connections were made, signaling the start of many collaborations that will change the course of youth action for our planet. The Summit concluded with much energy and hope and One Young World hopes to see more youth collaborations for the betterment of our planet.

We would like to thank all of our delegates, Counsellors, speakers and our host, Biosphere 2 and the University of Arizona, for making this event a success.
