OYW Edinburgh Caucus | 28 March

*Given the current circumstances, One Young World has decided to postpone the OYW Edinburgh Caucus until later in the year. The event will take place as soon as it can - we will be in touch with more information in due course.*

We'll be addressing the issue of orphanage volunteering and violence done to children in alternative care.

At the One Young World (OYW) 2019 Summit, JK Rowling - OYW Counsellor and Founder of Lumos Foundation - launched the #HelpingnotHelping Campaign. This campaign aims to challenge the norm around Orphanage Tourism, or "Voluntourism".

This event aims to serve as a learning experience for students to get informed and learn about global efforts around this issue. You will have the chance to listen to experts on this topic and learn about the different ways to channel resources to alternatives that are not harmful to children.
