Sasol will be championing 10 young community leaders from various countries of operation to participate as 'Delegates' to One Young World Summit 2014, to be held in Dublin, Ireland, 15-19 October 2014.
At Sasol we believe in the strength, courage and talent of young leaders and their ability to implement change in not only their own lives but in the lives of other people. The proud affiliation with One Young World Summit 2014 creates that platform, by giving today’s brilliant young minds the opportunity to share wisdom and insights on common challenges that the world is facing.
Together with One Young World, we are helping some of the world’s most extraordinary young minds get to this year’s Summit. Applications for 2014 will be narrowed down according to the criteria below, and the top 10 delegates will be selected and sponsored by Sasol to attend the event.
Sasol will consider applicants from South Africa, Mozambique, Qatar, Nigeria, United States of America, UK and Germany whose community impact is specifically linked to the area of Sustainable Development, Health, Education, Community Leadership, Innovation and Youth Unemployment. Sasol will champion those who live permanently, and work or study, in their country of representation. You must be able to prove nationality of the country you wish to represent, and your community impact must be linked to the country in which you live and represent.
If you think that you meet the requirements, and have evidence regarding your commitment to volunteering or any other extracurricular activity, we'd welcome your application to join the pool of Candidates.
You may be contacted for further information via email or telephone, so please ensure you supply correct information. Once you have completed this application, you DO NOT need to email us or anyone at One Young World with further information unless you are requested to do so.
To apply to be championed by Sasol as a Delegate to One Young World Summit 2014, Dublin, Ireland, please complete the below application form in full, ensuring you have taken the following criteria into account which include the standard One Young World candidate criteria and specific criteria specified by Sasol:
- One Young World delegates are 18-30 years old at the time of the summit
- You must demonstrate leadership potential and skills
- You must show teamwork
- You must be able to show concern about and grasp of global and local issues
- You must demonstrate an ability to generate and articulate impactful ideas
- You must have a commitment to volunteering or other extracurricular activity (description and evidence of tangible community impact will be required)
- Sasol will consider applicants from South Africa, Mozambique, Qatar, Nigeria, United States of America and Germany

Even if you already have an approved One Young World candidate profile, YOU MUST APPLY HERE. You may copy and paste the paragraphs on 'My passions' and 'My activities/impacts' into the appropriate application form boxes, but ensure you provide the URL to your approved One Young World community profile at the end of the application where requested.
