The Social Impact Mentoring Program (SIMP) is a six-month online program that enables corporate professionals to contribute their knowledge and expertise and empower the next generation of change-makers. We have identified a gap in skills and knowledge amongst youth interested in social development around the globe. Whilst young challengers are equipped with much enthusiasm and desire to challenge the status quo, they lack business knowledge and require practical support for implementing effective and sustainable solutions.

About SIMP

SIMP works as a structured one-to-one relationship between a young social entrepreneur and an experienced business professional. It involves transmission of knowledge, social capital and guidance that enhances the development of the mentees’ social business and stimulates their professional growth. Who are our Mentees? The Y&Y Mentees are exceptional, exclusively selected young people from a global pool of applicants starting a social business that has traction and is growing. As special and unique as they are, we call our mentees Yunus&Youth Fellows. The profiles of some of our Mentees are available on: http://yunusandyouth.com/fellows

Criteria for SIMP Mentors

- Desire to make a social impact
- Willingness to pass on their expertise and knowledge and support a young person
- Strong functional knowledge in an area (e.g. finance, marketing, branding, strategy, organizational development)
- Good level of English. - Time availability (2 hours per month).

How does it work?

We partner with corporations with a strong commitment to sustainable development. Yunus &Youth provides the structure and framework, and our corporate partners provide their employees the opportunity to be a driver of social impact. Over a course of six months, we enable corporate employees to champion change in a visible way. They get to mentor brilliant young social entrepreneurs from different corners of the world and together with their mentees develop a sustainable and scalable business solution to a social problem.

If you are a CSR or HR professional interested in bringing this opportunity to your employees and want to learn more about the structure, timeline and costs associated with it, schedule an info session by contacting [email protected].

Final list of Y&Y corporate partners is to be defined before November 15th, 2015. The SIMP program will run from May until October 2016.
