Salimatou Fatty

Founder and Executive Director, Salimatou Foundation for Education

Salimatou Fatty is a Human Rights activist that focuses on Quality Education and Gender Equality. She obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of the Gambia and Gender and Development at the Management Development Institute. Mrs. Fatty has rich expertise in working with children, youths and communities. Currently, she’s part of the youth leaders of Community of Democracy in Poland. Salimatou also served on the Youth Advisory Board of the United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative and is an Alumni of African Union International Centre for Girls ‘and Women’s Education Initiative. Salimatou has received several honors and nominations for her excellent work in the field of advocacy. She is recognized by European Commission as a Leading Young Peace-Builder in 2019; listed in 100 Most Influential Young Africans 2017; nominated for African Youth Award in 2016; named “Girl of the Month” in 2016 by Girls Pride Circle; and Peace Ambassador at One Young World and many others.
