Meron is a Delegate Speaker in the 2015 Human Rights Plenary Session. He is also the Founder of Lead Eritrea (Where Eritrean Youth Start Leading) and Refugee Student Association. Meron has been advocating for refugees for the past six years. Meron, who is a refugee himself, has continuously spoken about the plight of refugee and tries to address the root causes of the crisis. Meron has spoken about the human rights violations in Eritrea at a number of local and international events and also published a number of articles on the Huffington Post and G7G20 on the topic of the refugee and migration crisis. As a refugee himself, the issue of refugees is very close to his heart and he wants to address the plight of refugees personally. He is passionate about reducing the ever increasing number of refugees and assisting refugees and asylum seekers locally in resettlement programmes. Meron believes in educating refugees so that they will have the power to address their issues and change their societies and countries for good.
