Michele Cardoso Pereira Schifino

Michele is a Delegate Speaker for the 2015 Human Rights Plenary Session. She is also a Communication Specialist in APM Terminals, Maersk Group, where her daily work involves coordinating CSR projects and initiatives across the country. By initiating a partnership with local sports associations, she founded a programme called Future Champions. The pilot project reached more than 900 children from vulnerable communities in the first 3 months. They are now playing judo, handball and tennis during their spare time, instead of being in the streets. As a CSR leader, she is mentoring leaders from other businesses units and encouraging executives from the company to promote and support social responsibility actions. Through her work, the company is now giving almost $1 million annually to these activities and programmes. Michele is passionately engaged with the Global Goals (SDGs) as a way of life and believes that the refugee crisis is the main issue in today’s world.
