You Sotheary

Sotheary is a Delegate Speaker for the 2015 Education Plenary Session. As founder of Life of Women Human Rights Defenders, she also documented 10 female human rights defenders’ life stories and published the stories on website and social media. The organisations aims to raise awareness of the obstacles that female human rights activists face on a daily basis and encourages them to form alliances to increase the reach of their advocacy. She is also a National Consultant for UN Women and is working with the Cambodian Government to reform policy and legislation. Sotheary has dedicated her life to combatting violence and discrimination against women and is involved with several networks including the Young Champion of Ending Violence against Women and The Cambodian Legal Aid Network to End Violence against Women. Her involvement in these activities is focused on promoting gender equality.
