COVID-19 Advice
One Young World is looking to implement all possible and necessary safety measures at the Summit. We will work closely with the Munich and Bavarian health advisors to ensure that we adhere to the correct measures that are applicable in July.
Below is a selection of helpful FAQ's to prepare you for the Summit that will be reviewed and subject to change on a monthly basis and on a daily basis from February 2021:
Q: Will travel restrictions apply?
We will of course abide by all relevant travel restrictions. We are unable to make specific comments about quarantine periods and similar measures at this time - we will update this guidance when we know more. For countries where travel restrictions still apply, the Summit will be live streamed on the One Young World virtual platform.
Q: Will social distancing be in effect?
Where required we will mark the safe spacing out around the venue. The Olympiahalle’s’s main arena can seat up to 15,500 people. Our event will be much smaller, so the arena is large enough to permit 2m social distancing of all attendees in all main sessions.
As the Summit will be taking place in July outside spaces around the park may also be potentially utilised for networking, workshop activities and catering.
Q: Will masks be required and sanitiser be provided?
Masks are currently a legal requirement for all public travel and in public spaces in Germany. All Delegates will be asked to wear a mask and additional masks will be supplied at the venue. Masks currently need to be FFP2 grade and cannot be homemade. Sanitiser stations will be set up around all our venues. We will continue to update these measures based on available evidence and applicable guidance.
Q: Will Covid testing take place in Munich?
Mandatory daily rapid testing will take place at the Summit hotels and at the Olympiapark each morning to reduce the risk of any unwell Delegates on site. We are still waiting on the regulations on testing for vaccinated Delegates from Germany. However One Young World may still require you to do a daily rapid test.
Q: If I get Covid/ have to isolate before the Summit and cannot attend in person, can I switch easily to digital or defer my place to 2022?
In this instance your Summit pass will be converted to a Digital Delegate pass. We are unable to defer places to2022.
Q: What happens if I test positive for Covid in Munich?
Anyone who tests positive will be required to self isolate and will be prevented from attending any element of the Summit program. If further medical assistance is required this will be assessed on an individual basis.
Q: Will there still be workshops / Interactive stages / exhibition booths at the Summit?
Yes! We have a full programme of workshops, two interactive stages, a small exhibition booth and Munich Innovation Campus - these will be set up in accordance with all health and safety regulations and recommendations.
Q: How will Delegates be updated on rules and regulations for the Summit?
The Summit digital platform will update Delegates onsite of all logistics. Delegates will also be emailed any instructions prior to travelling to Munich.
