Unreasonable East Africa Institute

Are you convinced that you have the entrepreneurial spirit and drive to improve the lives of millions of people in East Africa? Unreasonable East Africa accelerates entrepreneurs who are tackling tough social and environmental problems in East Africa.

In the past two years Unreasonable East Africa has worked with 21 companies from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan who have gone on to collectively raise over $5 million USD in funding. They also work with over 80 mentors and hundreds of funders and are backed by the Global Unreasonable Institute, based out of Boulder, Colorado who in six years have worked with over 120 companies from 45 countries and have raised funds totaling over $53 million USD.

Past Unreasonable East Africa fellows have described  the program as surreal, in that ‘It almost never happens in the real world that you can walk to the ping-pong table and have a 45 minute chat with someone who works on high level strategy for a government in East Africa.’ If you are wondering about the value of the programme, one past fellow says, “...after attending the Institute, we can confidently say that there is no price that can justify the amazing hands on support and personal growth that Unreasonable brings”.

The class of 2016 Unreasonable entrepreneurs will live together under the same roof for 5 weeks and get training from 80 mentors, ranging from a founder of 3 companies with billion-dollar exits to an entrepreneur who has lifted 700,000+ people out of poverty. They also gain access to a network of 250+ investors, funds, and foundations, and get help building relationships with the funders most aligned with their ventures.
