Win a funded place at the European Development Days 2018

One Young World is happy to announce it has made funding available for 15 Ambassadors to join the One Young World delegation to the European Development Days 2018! Sign up today to be considered for a funded place in the One Young World delegation.

Selected Ambassadors will receive a set contribution for their accommodation and expenses in Brussels, and receive a travel contribution of up to €500.

What are the European Development Days?

The European Development Days (EDD) is Europe's leading forum on international cooperation and development. Under the main thread of ‘Women and Girls at the Forefront of Sustainable Development: protect, empower, invest’, the EDD 2018 agenda will be framed by three major themes emerging as key priorities in today’s current context: 'Ensuring the physical and psychological integrity of Girls and Women', 'Promoting economic and social rights and empowerment of Girls and Women', 'Strengthening Girls’ and Women’s voice and participation'.​

Join One Young World at EDD 2018!

One Young World will be present at the European Development Days with a stand in the EDD Youth Lounge (5 and 6 June) and will organise a high-level panel on young leaders driving gender equality on 5 June with High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini, various One Young World Ambassadors and fellow young leaders. One Young World will also organise a social event for young leaders on the evening of the 5th of June for all young attendees of EDD 2018.

You can now apply for a funded place in the One Young World delegation by registering via the button link below. 15 Ambassadors will be selected for a funded place based on their motivation and their passion for and experience in the topic of gender equality.

After you have registered via the link above, you will receive more information on how to create a profile on the EDD website, which is a necessary step to confirm your place.

Should you not be selected for a funded place, you can still attend EDD 2018 by registering via https://eudevdays.eu/ and arranging your own travel and accommodation.

Benefits of attending:

  • Network with other stakeholders in the field of international cooperation and development. Previous editions of the EDDs welcomed 5000-8000 participants from 140 countries representing 1200 organisations from the development community.
  • Learn more about gender (in)equality through high-level panels, lab debates and project presentations.
  • Reconnect with fellow One Young World Ambassadors and the One Young World team.
  • Engage with VIPs in the development field. Previous editions of the EDDs welcomed 200-300 VIPs varying from Heads of State to representatives of international organisations, civil society, private sector and EU institutions.
