The First Lady of Paraguay, H.E. Silvana Abdo launched the Joven Mbarete National Prize as her actions as First Lady of the Nation are aimed at accompanying public policies focused on development and social welfare, with an emphasis on the empowerment of women, as well as plans and programs related to the care of children, adolescents and youth.
For this reason, the First Lady of Paraguay in collaboration with the Secretariat for Youth of Paraguay, has sponsored five (5) young leaders from Paraguay to attend the One Young World Summit in Manchester, UK and become part of the One Young World global community.

I'm Alberto Nuñez, I'm 30 years old, I'm a mindfulness instructor and psychology student, also an entrepreneur.
I am an environmental and social activist, in 2020 I created an organisation called Guerrilla Verde that works in the poor neighbourhoods of Asunción. We started the work in the critical period of the pandemic by supporting the popular pots with vegetables, teaching communities to make community gardens. We also give talks on waste management, composting and environmental activism. We support and carry out projects that empower women in the communities. I am also a forest fire prevention brigade member in Asunción.
In 2021 I was selected among 12 personalities from around the world as a city changer for Cop 26 by the world urban campaign of UN Habitat.

Genifer Eliana Servín Leiva

Genifer Eliana Servín Leiva comes from the city of Yaguarón, Department of Paraguarí. She is 25 years old, has a degree in Labour Psychology from the National University of Asunción, and currently works professionally as a Human Resources Assistant in a private company. In 2018 when the cast Teatro YARA was founded in the city of Yaguarón, Genifer started as an actress. To date, she has participated in many productions, among which the play "Bar Tolo" stands out, as well as the performances of necrotourism and historical tourism. In 2019 she made her first work as a Producer of Teatro YARA, in the audiovisual project "Kaela", under the direction of Héctor Lozzca, a short film that had outstanding participation in national competitions. Currently within Teatro YARA, Genifer is one of the main referents and in addition to her role as actress and producer, she is in charge of the General Coordination of the cast's activities. With the experience gained as a leader of Teatro YARA, she applied for the National Youth Award Mbareté, seeking to represent the entire team of children, adolescents and young people who carry out this initiative to cultivate the art of theatre in their community.

Committed to Paraguay's precious potential, Liliana’s Girls Code develops programming and robotics workshops aimed at girls and adolescents from 6 to 18 years old. Over the years they have reached 1037 girls and 159 boys, carried out 76 programming and robotics workshops, and 21 talks on the inclusion of women in the creation of technology. They have worked with more than 20 organisations, reached 6 departments of Paraguay, and a foreign city, Montevideo.

My name is Ninive Mendez, I am 18 years old and I am from Fernando de la Mora, Paraguay. I am an environmental activist and I work to improve the integrated management of organic waste in my community through composting and the promotion of community gardens as alternatives for self-consumption. We currently have two active composting centres, one for the whole community and the other in conjunction with a private company. Our future plans include opening other centres with the support of the municipality, and starting up community gardens.

My name is Patricio Muñoz Pérez, I was born in Belén, department of Concepción, 21 km from the urban area. Since my studies I have always been interested in technology because nowadays it is an unconditional support for society, that is why I studied Engineering and Business Informatics at the National University of Concepción in 2021.
I am currently leading a project of sustainable technology applied to family farming, it is called automated irrigation system, where free software and hardware that helps the environment with the efficient use of water and improves the quality of life of farmers is used. Currently, 3 farmers' organisations in Paraguay are benefiting from this system.
