Tax Market Leader – Canada, Managing Partner, Ernst & Young

Gary occupies numerous roles at EY as the Tax Market Leader for Canada, the Canadian Tax Policy and Controversy leader and the Office Managing Partner for Ottawa. He joined EY with more than 20 years’ experience in controversy management and revenue administration, and leads one of the largest controversy practices in North America. Gary provides strategic advice and counsel on the most complex matters and represents the firm and large multinationals before the most senior officials in the government. He also provides strategic advice to many of Canada's wealthiest families.

Gary is an active community supporter and he sits on a number of boards and committees including the Lift Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, The National Arts Center Foundation, The Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards, Ashbury College, The Ottawa Senators Foundation and The Ottawa Hospital Gala. He is chair of the 2015 National Arts Centre Gala. Gary has a BA in economics, an MBA in management and marketing, and an LLB.
