Juan Carlos Reyes

,

In his role at the office of the National Youth System of the Presidency of the Republic Juan Carlos Reyes seeks to change how national government and civil society deals with and views youth issues. Through his work he hopes to enhance the work of young people throughout Colombia and aims to instill a view, when drafting public policy, that young people are part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

Juan Carlos Reyes has years of experience in researching public policy solutions, with particular emphasis on young people. He has worked with national government on various issues relating to the evaluation of social policy projects for marginalized sectors, the organization of events for national and international audiences, and work with victims of violence by organized armed groups outside the law.

His knowledge and experience in the processes and procedures of Laws 975 of 2005 (Justice and Peace), 387 of 1997 (Displaced Persons), 418 of 1997, and Decree 1290 of 2008 (Individual Reparation by Administrative Route), has allowed him to elaborate Political maps, follow-up on publications related to good governance practices, as well as the mobilization and organization of youth groups in political debates and other issues.
