Please provide us with your views on the state of peace in the country you will represent at the One Young World Summit

Niger is in a worrying security problem that affects most young people. These one are easily reeling in conflicting and armed movements because of their financial and educational sensitivity. This security instability can start from a small neighborhood movement (commonly known as ‘PALAIS MOVMENT’) to transform itself into major conflicts that can have consequences over several years. What is distressing is seeing young people become puppets, used and turned against their own brothers as is the case with Boko Haram for example who uses youth to create chaos. The strong demographics in Niger combined with a poor education system but also a very low job response create conflicts in this direction - But this can be avoided!

How do you think your work and/or activism contribute to a sustainable peace?

The BaÏwa project, although at its beginnings, is based on a rather holistic approach: highlighting models of success and showing young people their ability to also create change - a young person who follows the path of another young person who fought to succeed, is more likely to take the same path. By creating spaces for these young people so that they can freely develop, learn, learn and collaborate, it is to create a spirit of acceptance and sharing. So showing through the blogging the opportunities to engage in development through entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and sharing opportunities is reducing the risk that young people take a conflictual path is a good start for change.
