Brachial Plexus Injury Awareness Month

3 in every 1000 birth result in Brachial Injury, which is the most common injury but least talked about. The “Brachial Plexus Injury Awareness Campaign” is aimed at sensitizing the public of this injury and what they can do to assist the injured (from help groups to simple exercises and access to therapy). Also educating the Local Traditional Birth Attendants and Traditional Bone Setter on how to manage difficult birth processes (Shoulder Dystocia) and Babies with BPI.

2 OYW Ambassadors Ngozi Ekong and Oluwananumi Dawodu will be partnering with Medical Doctors and Physical Therapy Students from the Rotaract Club of Medi-Lag, / Rotaract Lagos Chapter and they have selected the Idi- Araba Community with the intent to educate and have Physical Checks on Babies and Children who have BPI during the drive.
