Vice President, Social Business Youth Alliance Global
Namista Tabassum is the Vice President of the Social Business Youth Alliance (SBYA) Global Foundation. A youth initiative creating social business leaders, SBYA has 300 active social business activists with partnerships and chapters in 40 universities across 6 countries. Namista previously worked as the Founding Director of YY Goshti, an organisation that encourages women to be entrepreneurs. The YY Goshti incubator seeks to train women with social business ideas, helps them refine those ideas into viable social businesses and gives them seed capital so they can pursue their dreams. Here she helped to refine 16 social business ideas into viable business models, and helped to launch and raise seed capital for 6 social businesses.Namista is currently working on accelerating economic development in South West Bangladesh by helping establish social businesses focused on agriculture, water resource management, food security and sustainable business development. This project is in collaboration with Blue Gold Program, the Government of Bangladesh and with financial contribution from The Government of Netherlands.
