Inspired by his experience at the One Young World Summit 2013, Prakash returned to Nepal on a mission to enhance gender equality in his field, IT. Preliminary research showed Prakash that girls made up less than 15% of Nepalese IT students and workforce. Prakash gathered a team of experienced IT professionals to co-found G-Hackademy; a social business which aims to equip young women in Nepal with the skills needed to make a career in the IT industry. G-Hackademy’s 12 week programme has no fixed curriculum but is instead tailored to each student’s individual area of enquiry. As well as providing technical training, mentors work to secure employment opportunities for each graduate. 100% of G-Hackademy’s first batch of graduates went on to interview with a range of technology companies and 55% have already secured work in the industry
