Rainier Mallol ,
AIME’s technology, which applies artificial intelligence and mathematical algorithms to predict disease outbreaks, has been deployed in Brazil, Singapore and Malaysia. The organisation was founded by Rainier Mallol, 26, from the Dominican Republic, and aims to provide advance warnings of outbreaks of Dengue and Zika viruses to within a 400 metre radius and three months in advance. AIME, which has successfully piloted the technology, will circulate warnings via smartphones.
Impact:
- 88.7% accuracy in predicting Dengue outbreaks, three months in advance.
- 9 million people given protection from disease in cities including Manila and Rio de Janeiro.
